Garden designer and TV presenter Diarmuid Gavin cycles along the Greenway trail that follows the old railway line from Newport to Mulranny, Co Mayo, with his five-year-old daughter Eppy, and also takes a looped walk in the Nephin Mountains. The famous garden designer Diarmuid Gavin cycles the 18k of the newly opened Greenway which follows the track of the old railway line from Newport to Mulranny.

With the spectacular Nephin Mountains to his right and the beautiful views across Clew Bay to Croagh Patrick on his left Diarmuid explores the fascinating historical parts of the route including the 7 arch bridge over the Black Oak river built by the railway company in 1894 and the Bunnahoona river which flows under the Greenway to the sea. On his cycle he meets historian Jonathan Beaumont and Mary Cannon, one of 52 landownerson the Greenway.

Diarmuid also takes in a walk on his outing, the Derrada/Burrishoole loop and visits a salmon fishery along with Grace O'Malley's Rockfleet Castle and a 15th century Dominican Abbey.
