This is a beautiful wild coastal walk in a landscape of bog and windswept mountainside with stirring seaward panoramas from towering cliff edges. It follows surfaced roadway, bog roads, grassy tracks and paths and takes you past the Children of Lir sculpture before heading inland with a fairly demanding ascent over open ground.

Did this trail in April 2017. It is well marked and easy to follow. There are a couple of steep ascents and descents but nothing too difficult. There are many warning signs to stay on the right side of the ditch which will keep you away from the cliff edge, but also away from some of the most spectacular views. But if you do venture a bit closer to the edge, be careful, as a fall could be fatal. You will also come across the biggest piece of quartz ever in a stream - at least I think it's quartz - either way it's impressive.
