This walk takes you through Kilronan Forest on path from the Castle to the shore of Lough Meelagh and out to Doon Point, returning along woodland tracks and offering much fine woodland and lake scenery.

Staying at Kilronan Castle I have discovered lots of great walking opportunities. This trail is unique with many fine views of Meelagh Lough. What makes it truly great are the abundance of beautiful trees. Many mature and ancient trees are to be found along the trail. It is well way marked. Just follow the purple arrows. Older way marks are to be seen on several trees as yellow arrows highlighted with red. Highly recommended.
