This walk takes you on bog-bridge around tranquil Lough Caum, 210 metres above sea level and well stocked with rainbow trout. Views are of Stradbally Mountain and Beenoskee and of Reamore Hill. Loose boulders around the lake and up the hillsides add to the ruggedness of the landscape.

Fantastic trail. Raised wooden platform completely round the Lough. Hand rails but careful some were broken May 2019. Walking planks all in excellent condition and they have wire mesh on so you don't slip. Periodic seating along this walk. Not suitable for pushchairs or those with mobility concerns. Children would be fine if fully supervised.

Peaceful with beautiful views. As you drive into this forest park, keep driving until you reach the furthest carpark if you don't want to walk from the bottom carpark.

Beautiful tranquil spot. Walk is on a raised platform around the lake, so not mucky at all. Great surprise to find up in the hills! Definitely recommended.
