I visited this trail as part of a class trip to Cape Clear and I must admit it was one of the highlights of my trip. The beautiful views of the Atlantic are breathtaking on a clear sunny day along with the fresh sea breeze. It really gives you a taster of the Irish countryside and the lives of the people of Cape Clear.

This trail is so rewarding. With fantastic views and lovely pathways, the Gleann Loop portrays Cape Clear in all its beauty. The Gleann Loop offers panoramic views of the rolling hills of Cape Clear and the ocean surrounding it. It’s easily accessible from the experienced hillwalker to the casual stroll. A must do if you’re visiting the island.

Enjoyed the trail very much, scenery fantastic as we hiked through the island of Cape Clear. The simplicity of life and nature was extremely enjoyable. Certainly a unique trail in a remarkable Gaeltacht. An epic experience, I would highly recommend this trail to everyone.

We did this beautiful trail last May. It was incredible. The views were spectacular. We could see for miles and miles out to sea. It was a little challenging at times with muddy patches but that was the fun of it. It was not a difficult trail and it allowed us to see the majority of the island, including the ruins of a castle and some friendly pigs. We have been thinking of going back for a long time as we all loved it so much.
