This a pleasant walk at the foothills of the Galtee Mountains. Leaving the road there is a grass passage and a number of stiles to climb over to reach the beginning of the forest with a stiff climb all the way. Forestry roads and good views are to be had on the walk. Our group of 7 walkers enjoyed this Benard Loop.

I wouldn't recommend this walk. At the very beginning of the trail after you leave the road you have to walk a short distance up a farm road. The day I was there this road was covered in a layer of 3 inches of cow shit slurry. It was completely unavoidable and the worst part is when you return you have to walk through it again.

Many of the waymark posts were missing their arrows so it is important to bring the map and written directions with you. Much of the walk is through ugly pine tree plantations on logging roads. The only redeeming features are the nice views from the mountains, but these account for just a small part of the walk. Spend your time elsewhere.
