
The series, which is supported by Sport Ireland, features spectacular walks and cycle tracks in stunning locations all over the country. The programmes will be presented by a different personality each week in the five episode series.

John Treacy, CEO of Sport Ireland notes that "Participation in physical activity is on the increase and recreational walking is hugely popular. Over 850 trails are registered under the National Trails Office and I would encourage people to get active and develop habits of regular exercise which will ultimately lead to enhanced quality of life”.
Series 6 of Tracks and Trails will begin on Friday 1st of April on RTÉ 1 @ 8.30pm and will be shown each Friday for the following 5 weeks.

Episode 1 -Kerry - Gerry Murphy walks the 15km journey on Valentia Island in Kerry ending at Bray Head. His second walk takes him to Derrynane the ancestral home of Daniel O’Connell.
Episode 2 - Cliff Walk - Jim Sherwin gets a bird’s eye view of Wicklow, along the cliff walk, from Bray to Greystones in County Wicklow. He starts his journey at Pearse Station in Dublin taking the scenic DART journey to Bray.
Episode 3: Mayo - Sinead Kennedy is walking the Larganmore Loop in County Mayo on the western slopes of the Ox Mountains, taking her through some unique habitats and scenery.
Episode 4: Keith Wood journeys down the western side of Lough Derg which is one of Ireland’s largest lakes. On his way, Keith visits Holy Island by boat and ends his 40km journey in Killaloe.
Episode 5: Sligo - Steve Wickham and his wife Heidi are in their home County Sligo exploring the 10km walk from Strandhill to Carrowmore.
From time to time, episodes from across the six series are played and repeated on RTÉ and are available on the RTÉ Player.
